Have we truly understood the true consequences of war beyond our own species?

Have we truly understood the true consequences of war beyond our own species?

War has been a recurring theme throughout human history, but as seen recently in Ukraine and Gaza, its impact has been increasingly widespread. Such eruptions of violence do not simply end where they begin. From the Gulf War to the Iraq War and the Kosovo conflict, we have witnessed the severe and lasting effects of war on not only human lives but also entire ecosystems.

However, most war narratives remain centered on human experiences, often overlooking the ripple effects on animals and their habitats. This neglected perspective leaves us with incomplete and damaged data, highlighting only parts of the story. As a result, the effects of war on forests, rivers, and the countless animals suffering within these environments remain largely unseen.

“Tune” aims to shed light on these overlooked dimensions, expanding narratives to include the interconnected systems of human and non-human life. It seeks not to exclude humanity but to incorporate animals into the story, offering a broader perspective on the true consequences of war.
